My Great Grandma's Fried Chicken Recipe

1-3 lb Chicken fryer, cut up
1 cup Buttermilk

Incubate chicken overnight or at least 2 hours at 4 degrees C in buttermilk (Refrigerator)

Combine:

1 cup flour
1 cup Bisquick
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon celery salt
1 teaspoon paprika
a tsp garlic powder
1 tsp poultry seasoning

Mix well.

Take chicken pieces out of buttermilk and dip in the powder to batter

Fry in peanut oil (its not cheap but it makes it oh so goood). I use a Fry daddy type electric fryer with a basket. I fry it in oil heated to 170 C (340 F) about 10-15 min.

10-15 mins the chicken will cook in taht time? cool. I've always wanted to know how to make good southern fried chicken. mmm will have to try.

Yep, best bet is smaller pieces to ensure they are cooked all the way... I cut large breasts in half. Otherwise, big pieces prolly need 20 min.
